1.1.1 Essential History of Science
Science#1, that of nature, makes
matter operational. by fragmenting it into measurable objects
(things, atoms) and determines the laws by which they can be handled to
one's desire expressed in content-free ways by numbers
with mathematics. Thus one can command: "Make to
specification and send 100 screws as specified to our address within 5
days for 10 $".
The human sciences#2 regulate
matter in space in personally-neutral ways with words in
one-track-minded texts: "You
are allowed to rent this three-bedroom flat as long as you pay for it".
Science#0, the arts, influence the
application of energy by humans with convincing forms and
virtualities, embellishing the environment influencing e-motions, helps
to creating influence signs to point to the direction to be taken,
symbols to guide people's thinking, threats and rewards to make you
conform, and so on.
All this and any interdisciplinary mix
deals with everything else but the essence of human systems; these
sciences, deal with everything except humans themselves.
This subtle approach to human nature initiated by Plato and renewed by
Kant, reduces real human being to mere subjects compensated as
"free" to make use of objects for this demeaning philosophy. The
resulting human detriment is still the same as in the antiquity;
misunderstandings, fights, war, now with global consequences. In short
the state of human affairs tends to go from bad to worse which demands
some kind of reframing of their conceptualization.
Established science, however, is
confining itself to the above mentioned faculties#1,2,0. One has to go
back to Ancient China, maybe as far back as 5000 years to find an
alternative in the way the I GING formalized its message in terms
of Yin n n (0) and YANG (1). In fact that concept was at the
time so mind-blowingly tuned into the substance of human life
that in itself it would not have survived the confusing ages. Its
unknown author did not just formalize it beyond his time but did it in
such a way, that if you understood it, you could throw away the wordy
explanations and rewrite it yourself. In his wisdom he contributed the
flesh to this seed of superior knowledge that made it survive the ages.
In my understanding he made it attractive to the spirit of all these
times by embedding and embellishing it into an oracle game for people to
play with rather than understand their future and its
challenge. Thus the I GING used the greedy subject/object philosophy as
a carrier, while later on, philosophy misused Christianity to globalize
itself and that has led to the present bad state of science in terms of
lifefulfillment with its tendency to go worse.
So what can we learn from this essential
history of presently stuck stuck science in order to
conceptualize
the necessary set of
open-ended
generative principles out of which one, does justice to
each real human being in a way sufficient to understand the requirement
for life- through task fulfillment? That is the question to be
answered here not just
basically#1, personally relevant#2, or merely as an esoteric
possibility#0, but personally relevant#3, for YOU among others if
you care to pay attention the the path of understanding!
