Basically a human being can apply
capabilities
(yang, represented as 1) and/or give way n n
(ying, represented as 0) to its application. So when the same categories
meet, denoted by the multiplication operator (x), they might first
compete, and ideally lead to synergy, or else to quarrel (in a battle
ultimately leading to death), but in the same category, losing the
other; e.g. 1x1=1, 0*0=0. However if Yang meets Yin in real people, one
has to consider the subjective-objective context of M, E, S, T which
leads to the MEST "multiplication" table:

As
with the multiplication with numbers, AxB=BxA; but here
we deal in symbols. E provokes a subjective, S an
objective reaction in the other factor, T its opposite,
and M leave the other factor in its quality. Thus I, with
